⚡️ How to regain AI enthusiasm
AI-fatigue is real and you're not alone in feeling drained by this space. While you don't "have to" be excited about AI, I find it refreshing to remain curious and somewhat excited about the technological progress and new tools. And I'm here to share my "recipe" with you. 🙋♀️
🤢 Sick and tired of AI content? Exhausted by the loud noise in the AI space?
You're not alone. The pace of change is incredible: constant tool updates, a flood of "must-know" breakthroughs - no wonder many designers and product managers are experiencing AI fatigue. 🥵
💬 Are you experiencing AI-fatigue? |
Either way, I feel you. We entered this era full of excitement, only to feel overwhelmed a couple of months into it. But I’ve discovered a few ways to reconnect with the “magic” AI has to offer - ways that feel engaging, playful, and energising, rather than exhausting. Here’s what helps me bring back the excitement of AI:
🏀 Play & Experiment with AI Tools
I find it refreshing, fun, and sometimes incredibly inspiring. Of course, as with any creative exercise, you shouldn’t force it: play and experiment should surface naturally when the mood is right.
Once you’re back in the playground of “AI as an enabler for human creativity” you’ll probably be reminded why this new material is incredible.
I recently had superb creative moments with Kittl 👌
I love that it gives nuanced, sophisticated creative controls, like taking an element and generating infinite versions until you find just the right vibe - example below. 👇
🎨 Go to the visual playground and create some visual magic yourself 👉 Try out Kittl (using the code IOANA you can also get 25% off the first month or first year on all paid plans, both Pro and Expert)
✨ Another magical moment (which I shared in a past newsletter) was generating a podcast with NotebookLM - this felt like a psycho-emotional milestone to me in my relationship with AI: the first moment when AI blew my mind. 🤯
🔮 In it I saw a significant leap from basic AI outputs to unbelievable ones, and I recommend trying it out yourself. This tool will remind you that technology is fascinating.
📹 If you want to go deeper in visual experiments, you can explore the mindblowing advancements in video creation and human avatars by playing around with Synthesia.
📸 If you’re excited by photography, you should play around with Visual Electric.
🗓️ I also encourage you to “hunt” interesting AI tools on your own, maybe set aside weekly time in your calendar with the title “AI Play” and explore freely. ⚽️
🧠 Read interesting things about AI
OK, but how do I find the interesting things?
Well, that’s why AI Goodies exists.
📰 Here’s a recent article from Anthropic's research team 👉 Developing Computer Use
😅 A fun excerpt foretelling directions of machines moving closer to human behaviour: "In another, Claude suddenly took a break from our coding demo and began to peruse photos of Yellowstone National Park" 🤣
💡 AI is beginning to sound fascinating again, right?
🖼️ Reframe the hype as an opportunity
Every hype cycle presents us with pioneering potential for shaping the foundations of future technologies. The emergence of new worlds and materials is a unique moment in time (remember the early days of the internet?) and we can all participate in articulating a collective voice that advocates for the right frameworks and structures for surfacing these technologies in our everyday lives.
Start participating. Start contributing. 🙋♀️
🐶 Start an AI pet-project
The fun is in the making. You don’t have to wait for “official opportunities” to create something with AI. You can start on your own.
Either by launching a website built with AI-enabled low-code or no-code tools, building your own GPT, or even volunteering to collaborate with an AI startup or research team - start building and the excitement will come back 😉
🌴 And take a break from the noise whenever you need it 🤗
P.S. I did not use (any!) AI to write this. This also helps with AI fatigue - keeping some creative efforts exclusively human 😎
